The View at ABC Studios

Day Three began with a trip to ABC Studios to participate in the live audience for Americas Daytime Talk show, The View. It was a 45 minute walk from The Hostel, but it wasn't all bad as we took a stroll through Central Park to get there. As we are Media Students, this was an amazing opportunity for us to see how shows run live from the studio and to top it all off, WHOOPI GOLDBERG gave BCU a shoutout on live American Television!! It doesn't get any better than that! And it was an overall fun and interesting experience for the School of Media.
Here is a cheeky clip of BCU Media Students making our television debut.
Downtown
After a quick a pitstop at Ellens Stardust Diner, we then ventured our way Downtown via the Subway, which is super easy to use and only $3 for a single ride.
Once we got off the Subway it was hard to miss the One World Trade Center, you can visit the top of One World, which many students on the trip did so they could experience the views from the tallest skyscraper in America. Around the World Trade Centre area there is the 9/11 memorial which is definitely worth visiting if you haven't done so before. Also, we went into The Oculus in which if you're interested in architecture is definitely a place you need to see. Inside The Oculus is a Westfield Shopping Centre which has a range of stores and is also connected to a main Subway station. We browsed in some shops, then headed outside where we stumbled across Brookfield Place. After a tiring couple of hours on our feet, it was nice to sit inside Brookfield and enjoy the views of the river whilst grabbing a cupcake from Sprinkles, so we could prepare ourselves for our next stop to Dumbo.

Dumbo
After walking 20 minutes in the complete opposite direction, we finally arrived at Dumbo, an iconic landmark with The Manhattan Bridge central in the background. This was a great experience as we both have now ticked Dumbo off our bucket lists. Also, Dumbo is really close to Brooklyn Bridge Park which was where we were going to next, once we took some photographs of the iconic setting.

Finally, the time had come for what we had been waiting for all day. We sat on the bottom step next to the river, watching the sun go down behind the beautiful city scope with the bright lights glistening over the river. We sat here for around 2 hours, taking it all in from light to dark whilst capturing some photographs of the view. Once we were ready to leave, we headed back to Dumbo and found the nearest Subway station to make our way back into the city, ready for an early start to day four at Good Morning America.
