Day One

Our alarms were set for 6.30am ready to finally head to NYC! We met the lecturers at Parkside before getting on the coach and heading to London Heathrow. Check in was smooth and we were soon browsing through duty free and getting a bite to eat before boarding our 2.35PM flight ‘Dream Girl’. We really couldn’t have asked for a better flight, we basically had the plane to ourselves allowing us to choose our own seats and have plenty of room. The flight flew by with plenty of films to watch and a cheeky glass of wine. Once we touched down in NYC, we all headed through boarder security very quickly before collecting our bags and getting a coach to YMCA Vanderbilt, our home for the week. As we spent a long time travelling we decided to just check out the hostel before unpacking and heading straight to bed. However, other students did head out to explore Time Square and the surrounding areas.

As our first day consisted entirely of travelling, we thought we would share a collage of images that summed up the travelling of Day One. We carried our excitement firstly from Birmingham, to London Heathrow until we finally arrived in NYC!
