Good Morning America

After an action packed three days, on day four we certainly struggled to wake up, especially with a 5am alarm. However, we were both extremely excited as we had two media trips planned. We began the morning by participating in the audience for Good Morning America. There were only 12 places available for this, so when the tickets were released prior to the trip we had to act FAST! Luckily we secured two tickets and were able to experience the cast of Queer Eye and even received a free goody bag at the end of the show. The experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we had such a good time. We especially loved the comedian they used to warm up the crowd, as he was definitely not shy when ripping into the audience members.

After an early start at Good Morning America we decided to have a relaxed afternoon, before our next stop at the Warner Music offices. We headed to one of 240 Starbucks in Manhattan for a late breakfast before checking out Bath and Body Works, a store that you can’t get here in the UK. We spent way too many $$$ in that shop but didn’t regret it one bit. After a quick pit stop at the hostel, we headed to the Rockefeller food court for our lunch.

Warner Music Tour

We also signed up for The Warner Music Tour where three different Warner employees spoke to us and allowed us to ask them questions about their roles. We heard from Tommy Nappi who handles radio promotion and works to get airplay for artists. Ryan Faus from the Research and Analysis department and Lori Feldman, who works for Strategic Marketing and Brand Licensing at Warner Bros Records. We both found all speakers really interesting, however, we especially loved talking to Lori as she is a powerful woman in a high position in the music industry, which was really inspiring for us both. Ryan then gave us a tour of their offices, which was full of cool artwork and open spaces for their employees.

Times Square

Surprise, surprise we then did some more shopping before heading for dinner at Playwright, an Irish Bar. We spent our final admiring the bright lights of Time Square, watching the street performers and just taking in the city that never sleeps. 23’343 steps later, we headed back to our hostel.
