Fifth Avenue

Our last day in the city had arrived, which we were really sad about but equally we were ready to head home, despite the long journey awaiting. We checked out of the Hostel at 10am and decided to do some last minute shopping along Fifth Avenue and circle our way back to the Hostel. This was also perfect for spending any left over dollars that we had. We went into iconic department stores Saks and Bloomingdales, which had the best beauty counters. As we headed back, we stopped off at Chipotle on Third Avenue for a bite to eat.

Grand Central Station

To end our time in NYC, we headed to Grand Central Station as this was near to the Hostel. Again, this is a very iconic landmark in the city having 44 platforms, more than any railway station in the world. We also experienced the whispering walls in the station, which are located outside The Oyster Bar. We spoke to each other from opposite corners of the arched walls, which somehow transports sound from one side to the other.

Home Time

Finally, it came to the time where we had to leave the City. Our group met at the Hostel for 4pm in order to get the coach to JFK. We had yet again, a very smooth journey checking in to JFK and flying home on Virgins 'Sleeping Beauty' aircraft, which was perfectly fitting for our overnight flight. We landed back into the UK at 7am and we were ready to adjust back to reality.

Goodbye NYC, until next time...
